School of Vocational Education (SVE), Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) offers niche job-oriented UG Vocational programmes in over 15 domains.

And there is no entrance test form admission.

The School of Vocational Education (SVE) was set up by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in December 2011. The SVE runs courses on the Work Integrated Training Programme (WITP) approach, providing the students an opportunity to enhance their skills and gain workplace-based industry experience as a part of their degree/certification program.

The SVE delivers Work Integrated Training Programme which is also an internship embedded program by engaging with various Skill Knowledge Providers (SKPs). The Skill Knowledge Providers (SKPs) provide on-the-job training. WITP allows for the ‘Earn while you Learn’ feature that enables the students to earn a stipend during the on-the-job duration of the course of training.

Selection Criteria: Based on the application submitted. No entrance test.

Key Features of TISS SVE Programmes

1. UGC approved and National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) aligned programmes

2. B.Voc. Degree recognised at par with the other Bachelor Level Degrees for Competitive Examinations Conducted by UPSC/SPSC/SSC.

3. B.Voc. Degree will be eligible for the Transdisciplinary Vertical Mobility.

4. Industry Associations as Knowledge Partner for Skill Training.

5. Programmes are designed based on Outcome Based Education (OBE) as per National Education Policy 2020.

6. Work While You Learn Approach – opportunity to earn stipend.

7. Fees is Sponsored by the Industry/CSR Funding.
